Reed Named New Loan Officer
Ginger Reed has been promoted to loan officer at Highlands Union Bank’s Main Street headquarters.
Reed’s primary responsibilities are processing loan applications and handling loan approvals. She also will assist senior administration in processing loans.
"Processing loan applications is an important part of our day-to-day operations," says Highlands Union Bank CEO Sam Neese. "Our clients have come to know and respect the high level of service that Ginger provides, and we are fortunate to have someone of her caliber working with us."
Reed joined HUB in 1995 as a teller, and her banking experience includes many areas of banking, including loan documentation and loan processor/loan originator.
"I’m excited about continuing my career with Highlands Union in my new position as loan officer," Reed says. "I am looking forward to meeting new people and taking care of their financial needs, as well as the customers I have gotten to know in the past."
The Bristol, Va., native is a graduate of John S. Battle High School and has completed accounting, marketing, law and banking classes at Virginia Highlands Community College. She also has completed online training classes in consumer lending.
She resides in Abingdon with her husband, Billy. The couple has two grown children.
Highlands Union Bank has assets in excess of $620 million and serves the region through its main office in Abingdon and 12 other branches: two each in Abingdon and Bristol, Va.; one each in Glade Spring and Marion, Va.; one each in Sevierville, Rogersville and Blountville, Tenn.; and three locations in North Carolina – bank branches in Boone and Banner Elk and a loan office in West Jefferson. A full-service branch in Knoxville, Tenn., is under construction and expected to open in late summer.
