Booher Promoted to VP

Bryan Booher has been promoted to vice president and senior credit officer at Highlands Union Bank.

With the promotion, Booher is in charge of credit quality for the bank’s loan portfolio and works out of the Main Street headquarters in Abingdon, Va. As senior credit review officer, he manages all credit processes for the banking system’s 13 branches. Booher also oversees the collections department, loan policies and procedures, and serves as chairman of Highlands Union’s credit management committee.

"Bryan has been an asset to us from the beginning, and he will continue to apply his thorough knowledge and understanding of our banking system to his work," says Highlands Union Bank CEO Sam Neese. "We are privileged to have him play such a key role in our organization."

Booher is a graduate of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn., and the Southeastern School of Banking. Having worked in the banking industry since 1992, he joined Highlands Union in 2004 as a commercial loan officer.

"I feel fortunate to be associated with a bank such as Highlands Union that always puts customers first," Booher says. "This is a great step forward for me in my banking career."

A native of Bristol, Tenn., Booher resides in Blountville, Tenn., with his wife, Tina.

Highlands Union Bank has assets in excess of $620 million. The bank serves the region through its main office in Abingdon and 12 other branches: two each in Abingdon and Bristol, Va.; one each in Glade Spring and Marion, Va.; one each in Sevierville, Rogersville and Blountville, Tenn.; and three locations in North Carolina – bank branches in Boone and Banner Elk and a loan office in West Jefferson. A full-service branch in Knoxville, Tenn., is currently under construction and is expected to open later this summer.
