HUB VP Only Second Female to Preside Over TN Young Bankers Division
Leslea Ogle, vice president at Highlands Union Bank’s Knoxville branch, made her final appearance as president of the Young Bankers Division at a Leadership Convention held April 22-24 in Orange Beach, Ala.
Ogle, now denoted as "immediate past president," served as 2006-2007 president of the 47-year-old organization, which is a subgroup of the Tennessee Bankers Association.
She is the second female in the organization’s history to hold the position. Her tenure also included serving as board member for the Tennessee Bankers Association and as trustee for the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.
"Leslea’s leadership role among the state’s rising generation of bankers is proof of her excellent qualifications and high caliber of experience," says Highlands Union Bank CEO Sam Neese. "We are proud that she is part of the Highlands Union team."
The Young Banker’s Division was established in 1960 and is devoted to preparing Tennessee’s young bank officers ages 40 and under to become the industry’s next generation of leaders.
Ogle is vice president and branch manager for Highlands Union’s new branch office now under construction at the intersection of Chapman and Gov. John Sevier Highways in Knoxville.
A native of Seymour, Tenn., Ogle attended Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., and began her banking career in 1991, serving various community banks in Sevier County. She currently resides in Seymour with her son, Michael.
Headquartered in Abingdon, Va., Highlands Union Bank has assets in excess of $620 million. In addition to the new Knoxville site, the bank serves the region through its main office in Abingdon and 12 other branches: two each in Abingdon and Bristol, Va.; one each in Glade Spring and Marion, Va.; one each in Sevierville, Rogersville and Blountville, Tenn.; and three locations in North Carolina – one each in Boone and Banner Elk and a loan office in West Jefferson.
