10/24/07 Construction began at the site in April in what is known as the new South Grove development, located at 7570 Mountain Grove Dr. at the intersection of Chapman and Gov. John Sevier Highways. A pair of experienced Knoxville bankers will manage the new branch. Leslea Ogle, a Seymour, Tenn., native with 14 years of banking experience, is vice president and branch manager. Brian Wahl, a 15-year banking professional, is vice president and commercial loan officer. The public is invited to the new branch location for a grand opening on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. Musical entertainment, food and prizes will be available. “We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to meet the banking needs of customers in the South Knoxville area,” says Highlands Union Chief Executive Officer Sam Neese. “We’ve had our eye on this market for some time, and we’re eager to see our expectations for this branch come to fruition.” Founded in 1985, Highlands Union has gradually expanded to encompass a network of branches throughout Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina.
